The metric series miniature bearings are single row ball bearings available from 1 mm to 10-mm bore sizes. The construction of these bearings enable them to carry moderate radial and thrust loads at low operating torque and provide high performance. The metric series Miniature ball bearings are available in stainless steel and chrome steel and come in open sealed and shielded configurations. They are also available flanged or unflanged.

When Foster turned his attention towards skateboard bearings, he discovered something shocking - the ABEC rating stamped on the bearings you buy may not be true at all. 

"In some countries it is legal to print anything you want on a part. Shields can be interchanged or marked with whatever you want. You can mark, "made from bubblegum" on the shield just as easily as you can put ABEC 9 or Solid Gold – or whatever you want," said Foster, adding, "Just because it says so doesn’t always mean it is true."
